The University of Lisbon is the largest university in Portugal. Their Faculty of Dental Medicine recently started a new Master Program in Oral Health Sciences and Technologies.
Professor Dr. João Roque, the head of the fixed prosthetics department and member of the faculty's scientific commission, invited PIC dental's Sales Manager, Ricardo Alves, to introduce dental photogrammetry to the program's students.
A group of over 30 dental technicians, dentists, and hygienists joined the session, dedicated to full arch workflows with the PIC system. They learned the history of PIC dental and its effect on the evolution of full arch treatments and workflows using digital tools.
In 2010, PIC system became the world's first commercially available dental photogrammetry solution for measuring multiple implant positions at a time when the gold standard was considered to be conventional impressions. Today, a vast body of scientific research has proven the reliability of the guaranteed passive fit provided by PIC dental, which has transformed the work of dental practices around the world.
Attendees had the opportunity to try the PIC system with a hands-on experience to learn how easy it is to use, as its precision is not dependent on technique or operator experience. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where participants got all their questions answered and discussed their experiences.
PIC dental is committed to advancing dental technology. Our ongoing collaboration with academic institutions worldwide is a core part of this goal as we continue supporting the next generation of dental professionals.
