Dr. David K. Christensen has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years, and has had over 10 years of extensive experience with All-on-4 cases. He specializes in cosmetic dentistry at Glickman & Christensen Premier Dentistry in Waldwick, New Jersey, where last year they received their on-site PIC pro training as part of the delivery of their PIC system.
Dr. Christensen was familiar with the digital workflows and intraoral scanning beforehand, as their practice already had several intraoral and desktop scanners and used exocad® in-house. The PIC system was the next logical step to deal with the advanced bottlenecks of a practice that has a high volume of full arch All-on-4 treatments.
When asked about their PIC pro training experience, Dr. Christensen told us that “the last days really opened my mind on how the workflow is done and how important it is to have systems in place.” During the training, his team started with using the PIC system for capturing implant impressions and then went “to implementing a whole system where we can organize our files. We can import all of our data. We can have our workflows established to make the design easier to retrieve and easier to complete.”
Their productivity has skyrocketed while keeping the treatment quality: Dr. Christensen considers that “I can save so much time because all of those things are organized efficiently, so I can pull them in and output my product quicker. And then when the patient comes in, it’s still the same excellent product.”
PIC pro goes far beyond a demonstration of how to operate the PIC system. It’s a radical change to your clinical workflow, designed from the ground up to elevate the CAD/CAM skills of your clinic and lab teams.
In Dr. Christensen words, “It’s not just, ‘Oh, here’s your scanner. This is how you take it. You’re done.’” The key difference of their experience is that the PIC pro training showed them “‘This is how you use it effectively.’ And that’s what I’m grateful for because nobody, no other company does that.”
