Recently, they incorprated a PIC system Gravity into their technology suite, and our team at PIC dental had the opportunity to deliver an intensive 3-day on-site PIC pro training. The results were nothing short of transformative.
Centro Médico Palafox was already ahead of the curve, performing guided surgeries with conscious sedation and maintaining a 100% digital workflow. But with their PIC pro training, they’ve taken precision and predictability to the next level.
Before adding a PIC system to their center, Centro Médico Palafox was already leveraging digital tools and intraoral scanning. However, like many clinics, they faced challenges in aligning implant data with lab workflows, especially in complex full arch cases. The need for greater efficiency, fewer appointments, and enhanced prosthetic fit was clear. With PIC system they have optimized their clinic-lab communication to reduce the number of patient visits while improving outcomes.
Led by our PIC dental specialists, the training was immersive and collaborative. From practicing on models to capturing PIC files on live patients, every team member—from hygienists to surgeons—was actively involved.
Dr. Juan Pablo Pardos, Clinical Director, and Dr. Iván Nogueira, Head of Oral Surgery and Implantology, were instrumental in guiding the clinical aspects. Meanwhile, the hygienists, who now manage the PIC system daily, showed incredible enthusiasm and skill in mastering the workflow. Their in-house lab, Sontek, now integrates PIC files seamlessly into their digital design process, supported by five EnvisionTEC 3D printers and two milling machines.
During the training, the team worked on real cases—including a bimaxillary restoration with six implants on each arch, demonstrating how a PIC pro training enables modelless workflows and precise implant position capture—all with fewer steps and greater confidence.
