Smile Artisans and Champions Dental, located in Cypress, Texas, are two of the latest dental practices to implement the PIC system and the PIC pro workflow for their full arch implant restorations.

Dr. Virgilio Gutierrez, the owner of Smile Artisans, is among the top-rated dentists in the area. He has undergone rigorous, advanced surgical and cosmetic training and holds numerous awards and recognitions.

Champions Dental is located just down the street from Smile Artisans. Its owner, Dr. Esteban Garza, is a long-time friend and colleague of Dr. Gutierrez. Dr. Garza has traveled across the globe for dental volunteer missions and also holds many prestigious awards.

Dr. Garza and Dr. Gutierrez often collaborate on clinical cases and give lectures together. As seasoned dentists with over a decade of experience, they both understand the importance of staying ahead in the ever-changing world of dentistry. PIC dental became the next step in their professional collaboration after they decided to get a PIC system to serve both of their practices.

"Traditionally, taking an impression for full arches has been pretty difficult.”

Both doctors shared the frustration of not having predictable results of their multiple implant restorations, which wasted their time and produced patient discomfort. The main goal behind the adoption of the PIC pro workflow by Dr. Garza and Dr. Gutierrez was to minimize the number of errors they could encounter during the restorative process.

“Dentistry is always changing, and I need to stay ahead.”

Dr. Gutierrez, who focuses extensively on the digital aspect of dentistry, first discovered PIC dental during a course in Brazil. He met Adrian Hernández, PIC dental’s founder, and began following the company over the years. Frustrated by the lack of predictability and precision with full arches in his practice, he eventually reached out to PIC dental to ask for help.

Dr. Garza became thoroughly convinced of their need for the PIC pro workflow after seeing another PIC dental user, Dr. Giancarlo Romero, using the PIC system in a live surgery.

“It was fundamental to bring this technology into our workflow.”

One of the main aspects of the PIC system that both Dr. Garza and Dr. Gutierrez appreciate is the speed and precision: "We can capture in less than a minute, probably 20 seconds, with incredible accuracy." This time-saving efficiency not only benefits both doctors but also elevates their patient experience, making the treatment faster and more comfortable for them.

"I love the peace of mind that the PIC system brings to our practice and knowing that we will obtain the precision, predictability, and clinical excellence we want for our patients.”

The PIC system form factor was the obvious choice. Having all the components built into the case itself, including even the computer and a large touchscreen, made it very convenient for transporting the system between practices.

The intensive schedule of their on-site PIC pro training was another added benefit to taking full advantage of their new clinical reality. Dr. Garza appreciated the opportunity to learn how to measure implant positions in many different situations with real patients throughout the 3 days of their training. Their PIC pro trainer provided them with a deep dive into optimizing their digital workflow based on the specific needs of their practices.

“Consistency, seeing the outcome and experiencing the excellence and comfort that it brings for our patients has been great.”

The journey of Dr. Garza and Dr. Gutierrez in their commitment to excellence and patient satisfaction continues. They are now capable of achieving a guaranteed passive fit, improving the speed and cost of their restorations, is a testament to the power of the PIC pro workflow and the PIC system in scaling up your full arch practice.
